North Carolina Governor Josh Stein visited Polk County Friday afternoon to highlight the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. The governor toured a home reconstruction project managed by the Housing Assistance Corporation, a volunteer organization that received a grant to aid in rebuilding the area after the storm.

Governor Stein discussed the ongoing efforts to get people back in their homes following the hurricane.
Jan.27 will mark 16 months since Hurricane Helene hit the Carolinas on Sept. 27, 2024.
