Professionals TEAM Up to give back for 10th year

It’s Hendersonville’s own version of a home makeover! This November, professionals from the Henderson-Transylvania Home Builders Association are celebrating 10 years of TEAM Day,  partnering together with Housing Assistance Corporation to repair homes.  TEAM Day means Together Everyone Achieves More!  Local builders, tradesmen, and suppliers contribute labor, expertise and materials for health and safety repairs that are beyond the everyday scope of the Housing Assistance Corporation Home Repair program.  Community volunteers work alongside, helping to get the job done.  The mission of TEAM Day is to make the homes more accessible for the residents who may be elderly or disabled with low income, to improve health and safety of the homes, and to provide repairs and maintenance that will preserve the livability of the home.

Volunteers are welcome and everyone can contribute.  Contributions can be made to Housing Assistance Corporation, 602 Kanuga Road, Hendersonville, or at http://housing-assistance.com/donations/ and volunteers can sign up to help by calling 692-4744 ext 110 or visiting http://vols.pt/1ebqvG.

Contributing businesses and groups which help make this effort possible include Construction Innovators of North Carolina, Creech Solutions for Construction, First Restoration Services, Chester Stucco, Service Today, Top Choice Trim and Tile, Carpet and More, John Balken Jr Roofing, Women Roofers of Rutherford County, ProSource, Hajoca, ProBuild, Ferguson Supply, Sherwin-Williams, Jackson Steel, Cason Builders Supply, John Deere Landscape Supple, Lowe’s, Hipps Stone, VanWyck LanDesign, Christie’s Lighting Gallery, St. James Carpenter’s Club, Henderson County, and Griffin Waste Services, among others.

Project 1: Just the Pros

Teams of professionals will repair crawlspace and plumbing issues, while remodeling a leaky bathroom with a new, more accessible bathroom.  Fixtures and labor will be donated by many local crews and suppliers.

Project 2: Can You Dig it? Everyone can help. (Rescheduled to Nov 14 due to weather)

Community volunteers are invited to help dig drainage pathways and place gravel to divert water that has been entering and damaging a home.  All ages can help and families welcome! Please call 692-4744 ext 110 or sign up at http://vols.pt/1ebqvG
